The Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education offers a variety of educational and development opportunities for students. The center and its three collaborating institutions help students gain knowledge about health professions, while also providing students with opportunities to connect with organizations across the Washington University Medical School Campus.

The efforts of the center are truly team-based, bringing together professionals and educators from throughout the Washington University Medical Campus to improve learning and patient care.

Health Professional Student Leadership Council (HPSLC)

The Health Professional Student Leadership Council (HPSLC) focuses on the extracurricular side of interprofessionalism. HPSLC works in parallel with the CIPE to promote and advance the understanding of interprofessional collaboration between all health professions on the Washington University Medical Center campus (audiology, genetic counseling, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and physical therapy).

Volunteer Opportunities

Students looking to get more involved with the Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education and our collaborating institutions can take advantage of a wealth of volunteer opportunities across the St. Louis area.

Students are invited to contribute to strategic priority areas of curriculum development and assessment, professional development, and interprofessional practice and research. It is an exciting time filled with ample opportunity for students to work alongside IPE leaders both in our own St. Louis community and those nationwide.

Contact the center via email if you are interested in finding out more!
