Genetic counselors facilitate the integration of genetic information into a patient’s larger care plan allowing for comprehensive and personalized treatment strategies. All facets of a patient’s journey must be considered by a genetic counselor, and exploring every avenue for genetic information is key to ensure best possible outcomes – making us natural collaborators and excellent advocates.

Why You Joined HPSLC:
I was motivated to join HPSLC once I saw areas for potential improvement by working directly in the field. Seeing areas where providers could enhance collaboration fueled my desire to learn more and seek out possible solutions with my peers!
