Emily Floramo, Occupational Therapy
Community & RCS Liaison and Vot-ER Co-Captain
Hometown:
Lockport, IL
What Your Profession Brings to the Team:
Through occupational therapy, I have learned how to apply a holistic and unique lens to healthcare as we focus on the importance of participation and performance of occupations (meaningful, daily activities). I believe that I am able to inspire new thoughts in interprofessional settings through my occupation-based questions and knowledge.
Why You Joined HPSLC:
I am very passionate about interprofessional work due to my previous experience as a behavioral health representative for my master’s programs Interprofessional Community Clinic. I felt that HPSLC would be a great way to continue advocating for the importance of interprofessional collaboration and educational opportunities. Overall, I am super excited to be working with individuals who have similar goals as myself about interprofessional collaboration and community practice.
Your Superpower:
Cutting fruit and vegetables super quick! I worked in produce at a grocery store after I graduated high school. Due to this experience, I can cut fruit and vegetables super quick and make a delicious guacamole!
